TwistedWave Audio Editor App Reviews

Total lifesaver

...for when one has to track mobile. And now they support exports to Box, too. :)

A Feature-Laden, Versatile Tool. - Updated.

I already previously considered this app to be the very best audio editor available on iOS, before this most recent update. But, man, with the new filters like the cadre of what I consider to be, amazing distortion filters. Well, this has become the one and only application that I use to edit any and pretty much all of my audio projects. Well, that is not entirely true. Because I also find AudioShare to be an invaluable tool as well on my iOS device. But they do not feel like the same type of app to me, with TwistedWave being more in the full-fledged audio editor camp. Using those two apps in conjunction with each other, along with myriad synths and other audio applications that I own. Well, I do not have much of a reason to jump on my desktop computer besides to catalog and backup my work. I am just so completely enamored with the new FX and filters added in this recent update. And I just want to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to the developer of this app, for all of your hard work and effort put forth here. Thanks again and God Bless. Update : 12/04/2014 I have found these two most recent updates to this application to just be great and on par with the usual high quality that Ive come to expect from this developer. The new ability to import/export from both Dropbox and Box are truly wonderful and much appreciated features. Plus, I am also very thankful and grateful for the recent inclusion of FLAC as an export format. FLAC for those that dont know, gives you a truly lossless and uncompressed way to store your audio files. The fact that it is a royalty-free audio container is even better. So, in my opinion, all of these recent improvements to this app just make it the absolute best choice for audio editing on your Apple device. It probably is a superb choice as well on your desktop/laptop computer too. But, the $80 price tag is just a bit too steep for my tastes when I have free alternatives such as Audacity to use. If the price of the desktop version of TwistedWave ever gets cut in half or even just $25 off, I may very well purchase it. My sincere thanks to the developer of this application for all of the hard work that you no doubt put into making this the premiere audio editor on iOS. God Bless and Merry Christmas. iPad 4, iOS 8.1.1

Totally agree with Joshua D

Joshua D said it better than I could. Great app! I have both versions on my phone to give me the option to playback previously recorded TW material along with other apps while Im recording the whole thing with the other TW version.

Crashes when importing from iPod Library on 8.1.2

The app is constantly crashing and then closing when importing. When this is fixed, Ill update the review. Thanks

Not bad but not good

It is just not my kind of editor other people will love it though. I think it is priced way too high for the low quality of the app.

Simply Awesome...STILL

I have a ton of serious audio apps for music production and this app is the best for audio recording and editing. It has always been rock solid, never hung up on me. It lets me zoom into the waveform and mark where to make cuts EXACTLY at the zero crossing as they should be so I NEVER have clicks or pops where cuts were made or where audio is spliced into the waveform. For recordings I have all the filters to compensate for room and microphones I use through the camera adapter cable, I can raise or lower a certain band a few dB, then apply a low or high pass to any desired frequency and raise or lower it as needed then normalize the finished audio so its the perfect volume, any changes are preview able and reversible. I even spent the big bucks on AURIA...but I prefer this program and also MultiTrack DAW for all my recording and editing, audio share for organizing and changing formats, and FL Studio for finishing up before I finish it up on FL studio on my desktop for the final mixing and rendering the master C.D. auria is pretty, but its glitchy. Oh also I record guitar from the StompBox app into Twisted Wave and its just been an AWESOME must have app for me.

The best option for quick efficient editing

I absolutely love this application is done so much for me. Very easy to maneuver and zoom in on audio peaks and valleys. With numerous export options its hard for anything to compare. Thank you so much.... I cant remember how much this application cost but it has been worth every cent hand over fist. Wish list... If possible....Please allow sample rate and bit depth to lock in globally. I go through edits every couple minutes and I have to reset the conversion rate and bit depth every time Also when editing loop section ...when zoomed in follows the cursor and makes the screen jump back-and-forth… Is there a way to freeze screen while editing playing loop? ...other than that AMAZING

Exactly what I was looking for!

I been on the App Store looking for ways to record something for videos because audio was choppy, or a voice kept distorting. Now I can finally fix audio tracks or recording when I need to. Yes a bit pricey, $9.99 is a bit much. But beggars cant be choosers. Not only can I edit voice tracks, but I can also edit songs straight from my iPhone. Thank you so much for making this!

Fantastic Professional App

Great! This is a full featured professional voice recorder and editor - and is more fun to use than Audition. (The editor is far better - and faster - than Garage Band. Think Audition.) I use this app to record audio books and edit on this app. I bring it into Audition to master. :)

Not good for the money

I want my money back!!!!!!!

Get this app

I used this app during a live radio broadcast (I also use Voice Record). Both are awesome apps. If I could change one thing it would be the option of having access to a multi-track feature. App allows music imports, however from what I can tell it ends up on the same track with my voice - not helpful. I paid for the upgrade - give me one more track at least. Awesome sound quality! Love the extra features that Voice Record doesnt offer.

Desperately Needs MultiTrack

Great app, lots of good features. Ive successfully used it to edit some pretty large files. The only problem is that there is no multitrack feature. Come on guys, we really need that feature in order for this to be a complete audio recording and editing app, especially with a $10 price tag. Ill rate this 5 stars when they add this feature. Until then, its great for simple editing.

Awesome but needs multi-track

But it needs to have multiple tracks in it, and the ability to edit one side at a time on stereo

Recording

I record our church service using this app and a Sonoma wireworks guitar jack 2. It sounds great. Good app for podcasting.

Best audio editor I found.

This is great! Good upgrade

Worth much more than the cost

I have been using the desktop version of TwistedWave for over 10 years as my main stereo audio editor and mastering program. I am a composer and producer and love simplicity and reliability. This program has performed flawlessly. It’s sleek design hides its powerful engine which is exceptionally user friendly. When the mobile app became available it totally expanded the way I record in the field. Not only am I able to record, with third party audio interfaces, extremely high quality audio, but also edit on the fly and send the files off to numerous locations using universal apps supported by TwistedWave. The tech support is a team of one: Thomas, who is also the developer! He is always helpful, will find ways to solve your problems, and gets back to you. I can’t say enough about this program except that I have used countless apps for every conceivable function, and I wish they all worked as elegantly as TwistedWave. If you’re into audio and require stability and dependability, get this app - you’ll be glad you did. Mark Torgeson

Would rate 5 star but...

How do you add a second track??? As of now I can add piano but not vocals... Are you even able to do two separate tracks??!!! If not I want my money back

Was Good...but crashed.

I had been using Twisted Wave for almost a year for my voice over work. It was easy to use and I got all my projects in on time. Then, this weekend as Im trying to edit an audiobook that is due in a couple of days, it crashed. Its still showing that the recording is there, but it wont open. Its also not letting me email any previous recordings Ive done. Ive tried to contact Twisted Wave support and still have not received a response. If anyone knows of a way to help me retrieve my work or if you know of any other reliable voice recording apps that I can try PLEASE let me know!

Great for quick fix

This is a great app for quick music editing/cutting. Its accessibility between devices is great...just send a text. Its simple to use and quick. It is limited...cannot drag ends of edits, cross fade isnt an option, cannot overlap tracks, fade in/out is limited. Works well for fast simple cuts.

Great app

Really useful app and very reliable. Definitely like the fact that it can record in 24bit/96khz... The th UI is easy to use and import / export options are very full featured as well. I use it as a two track recorder most of the time.
